Laurie O'Garro is a teacher, with over twenty years' experience working with children, teenagers and adults.  

Since 2014, Laurie has specialised in a craft called 'string art'. From symbols to intricate geometric shapes, Laurie produces pieces large enough to be mounted on the wall and small enough to be given away as greetings cards.

Laurie loves running classes for children, whom she challenges to do their neatest, most precise work. String art is great for improving fine motor skills, and Laurie supports children to improve their ruler work when preparing make a piece of wall art.

Take part in this rarely-seen class and be mesmerised and impressed by your own personal work of art. Can't attend a class in person, then buy a kit and follow along with one of Laurie's specially made YouTube tutorials.  Alternatively, look out for her online classes (book at least 10 days before the class date so the kit can be sent out in good time).

Funky String Art Craft Kits

String art classes are held in relaxing surroundings, usually a cafe - preferably independently owned - that can provide with coffee or tea and a selection of scrumptious cakes!

Participants will choose between making a card or a mounted piece that will look beautiful on their wall.

Classes last between two-and-a-half and three hours, giving participants enough time to complete their project and have a break in between.
